If you have a health problem, my advice is always to consult a specialist or your trusted doctor. That said, in my blog you will find a collection of recipes and remedies that I have discovered during my research, studies and courses. I have collected them in the section dedicated to folk remedies , where you can explore ancient traditions and solutions handed down over time.

Traditional recipes and remedies are born from observation, experience and the need to find solutions with what nature and the context offer.

They are the fruit of generations of trial, error and intuition, passed down orally or in writing, often with a touch of magic and superstition.

Traditional cuisine has always developed from what the territory had to offer. Every culture has made the most of its raw materials: in Tuscany, for example, bread is unsalted because it was once too expensive, while in Thailand spices abound thanks to the climate favorable to their cultivation. Many dishes were also created to meet the need to preserve food for longer, as in the case of cured meats, cheeses and preserves.

History has then intertwined tastes and ingredients, bringing chili pepper from America to Calabrian tables or the tomato to become the king of Mediterranean cuisine.

Even traditional remedies are rooted in the knowledge of nature and popular culture. Since time immemorial, man has observed the effects of plants and natural substances on the body, discovering that St. John's Wort helps healing and that honey is a valuable ally against sore throats. Tradition has often associated the forms of nature with benefits for the body: walnuts, similar to a brain, were considered beneficial for the mind. In many cultures, remedies were accompanied by ritual practices, prayers or symbolic gestures, in the belief that well-being was a balance between body and spirit.

Over time, many popular recipes have turned into refined dishes, while many natural remedies have been confirmed by science and integrated into modern medicine, such as sage for digestion or turmeric for inflammation. Others, however, have been forgotten because they were ineffective or linked to outdated beliefs.

Whether it's a peasant soup or a herbal compress to soothe pain, popular wisdom is the result of a thousand-year-old dialogue between man and nature, between necessity and creativity. And here, in my space, you can explore and rediscover this ancient knowledge.

Traditional medicine is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as

"the sum of knowledge, skills and practices based on indigenous theories, assumptions and experiences of different cultures, accompanied or not by explanations, used for the maintenance of health, for the prevention, for the diagnosis and for the amelioration or treatment of physical and mental illnesses"
